Financial Specialist I

Remote - REMOTE, MO

Primary Position Responsibility: This part time position will assist with processing financial transactions, overseeing accounts, providing support to staff and volunteers, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This part-time position involves extensive phone and email contact with group leaders.  You will converse with group leaders regarding the timely filing of financial and activity reports, train volunteers on guidelines and processes for completing reports, and assist with monitoring inventory of supplies.

Classification: Non-exempt, Part time 20-25 hours

Supervises: none

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support Finance Specialist with helping volunteers with all aspects of maintaining bank accounts and submitting Financial Summaries. Encourage (as appropriate) movement towards electronic banking and/or use of P-cards. Field questions regarding group financial summaries and provide support for issues regarding group finance.
  • Monitor the finance phone line and payables inbox and forward invoices to Supporting Strategies
  • Assist the financial coordinators on completion of Financial Summaries and other key processes as needed. 
  • Assist in opening, closing, and auditing local group bank accounts and coordinate documentation needed. 
  • Help to maintain group and donor data in CRM. 
  • Follow policies and procedures stated in the Stonecroft Staff Handbook. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Works with Financial Specialist II and third party vendor to coordinate and manage the company Purchase Card system for issuing cards and credit limits for Outreach Groups and Staff.  
  • Personally respond to finance-related inquiries via phone, video, and email within agreed on timeframe.
  • Assist with fall fundraisers including training on financial forms and helping with planning calls. 
  • Participate in and lead special projects associated with group supplies, volunteer reports and other Operational functions.

 

Qualifications

  • A personal and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ which is naturally communicated through words and actions.
  • A personal passion for evangelism (the spiritual gift of evangelism is not required).
  • Must possess a high level of comfort navigating a CRM, entering data, exporting data, and evaluating financial reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills. 
  • 2 years’ experience working in non-profit.
  • Experience working in Salesforce preferred.
  • Customer Service experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be highly collaborative and eager to learn.
  • Degree and/or experience in accounting preferred.
